Tim Sullivan
Associate Design Director
As an Associate Design Director, Tim (he/him) strives to reduce form to the simplest point, while retaining content-appropriate expressiveness. Typographically driven, he characterizes his approach by its pursuit of clarity, directness, and a passion for detail. Tim is a perpetual student of graphic design, and he references the past and present to create impactful, wholly contemporary visual systems.
Tim joins AREA 17 after beginning his career at Huge, where he worked extensively on the Google account and with client partners including Bain & Company and Morgan Stanley. In addition to client work, he co-founded an internal, experimental magazine for the agency, leading the design of the publication for its first several issues. Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Bowdoin College and a Certificate in Graphic Design from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. He has been a guest critic and lecturer on typography at the School of Visual Arts.
When not working in a grid, he can be found playing in one — a tennis court. He also enjoys watching basketball, visiting museums, and building knowledge in other design disciplines such as fashion and spatial design.
